Toros Fall One Spot to No. 8 in Latest NCAA Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- With just two weekends left in before the NCAA postseason commences, and fresh off a disappointing weekend in which the Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer team endured a tie and sufferred a loss, the Toros dropped one spot in this week's NCAA West Region poll to No. 8, it was just announced by the NCAA. The top six teams in each region qualify for the playoffs, which begin the week of November 13, at sites to be determined.

CSUDH has one game left in the regular season at UC San Diego tomorrow, before hosting the first round of the CCAA at 1 pm, against an opponent that will be determined after Thursday's contests.

Entering the week, newcomer Pedro Velasquez leads the Toros with 6 goals and 5 assists, with fellow newcomer Ali Nazari contributing 4 goals and redshirt freshman Frankie Perez 3.

Defensively, CSUDH has been led by junior All-Region selection Tony Alfaro and redshirt sophomore Bryan Haley, who both have started all 17 games this season and have helped the Toros post 4 shutouts and allow just one goal in 6 other games.

In net, junior Dylan Roberts and true freshman Chase Gentry have split time, combining for a 1.29 GAA with 67 saves on the year.

CSUDH has a minimum of two games with a maximum of four to make a good showing, needing to pass two teams ahead of it in the standings.
