Box Score

TURLOCK -- Bolstered by a 16-hit attack and a trio of players with 3 hits each, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros made it two straight on the road after a 7-3 win over CS Stanislaus to open the four-game set at the Warrior Baseball Field.

Brady Conlan went a perfect 3-for-3 after coming in as a pinch-runner in the third.

With the win, its second-straight, CSUDH improves to 12-10, 9-8 CCAA, while CSUS falls to 5-19, 2-15 CCAA.

The Toros started strong in their first at-bat, using a pair of hits and a Warrior error to plate the first two runs of the game.

After CSUS cut its deficit in half, an Alex Sixtos RBI single pushed CSUDH's lead to two runs again, before becoming 4-3 Toros heading into the 5th.

In that frame, CSUDH took control of the game with three runs on six hits, the big blows coming on RBI singles by Ivory Thomas, Bubby Rossman and Carlos Avila.

That was plenty for the quartet of Toro pitchers as Tyler Mark relieved starter Sean Wardour in the 3rd inning in tossing 3.2 to pick up his second win of the year.

Relievers Fernando Gallegos and Taylor Johnson combined for 3.0 innings of no-hit work, with each fanning a Warrior for good measure.

Logan and Avila joined Conlan with three hits, with Chris Allen driving in a pair of runs to lead the run-producers.

The two teams will go at it again tomorrow for two games, with first pitch starting at 11 am.
