Accurate Otters Take 62-46 Win Over Toros

SEASIDE -- Perennial power Cal State Monterey Bay may have hosted tonight's contest against Cal State Dominguez Hills, but took advantage of its trips to the free throw line in tonight's 62-46 win as the Otters made 19-of-22 while the Toros made just 10-of-25 attempts.

Jamie Robinson and Monay Lee led the Toros with 13 and 11 points, respectively, while Robynn Cochran (pictured) added 10 with a game-best 4 steals in the loss.

There was no letdown for the Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team from Friday's bounceback win over Cal State L.A. as the Otters never trailed in a 62-46 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills Saturday in The Kelp Bed.

CSUMB improved to 15-4 overall and 12-4 in the CCAA, while CSUDH dipped to 7-13 and 6-10.

Never trailing, it took the Otters the better part of the first half to gain separation from the Toros. CSUMB didn't build its first double-digit lead until a pair of free throws made it 24-14 with less than three minutes remaining in the first half, growing to 30-17 by halftime and to as many as 21 points in the second half before settling on the 16-point final margin.

As a team, the Otters grabbed a season-high 52 rebounds and shot a season-high 86.4 percent (19-of-22) from the line.

For their part, the Toros had chances stay close from the foul line but made just 10-of-24 free throws on the night.
