Lundy's Career Game Helps Spoil Warriors' Senior Day in 70-63 Win

Box Score

TURLOCK -- True freshman Denisha Lundy led all scorers with 25 points as Cal State Dominguez Hills spoiled host Cal State Stanislaus' "Senior Day" with a 70-63 win after draining 22-of-29 shots from the foul line.

The win snapped CSUDH's 5-game skid and improved the Toros to 8-16, 7-13 CCAA, while the Warriors dropped to 2-23, 1-19 CCAA.

Lundy was the story of the game, erupting for 21 points in the first half after draining 5-of-6 from 3-point land, and a perfect 4-of-4 from the foul line as the Toros took a 37-30 lead entering the break.

CSUDH pushed its lead to a game-high of 10 points twice in the first half, the last at the 7:18 mark after one of Lundy's 3-point makes.

The Toros kept their lead intact after the break, before the hosts whittled it down to 44-41 on a Devin Brown layup with 15:47 left in regulation, eventually tying the contest at 47-47 on a Katie Staack bucket three minutes later.

A Lauren Goode triple at 6:24 gave CSUS its first lead of the game, an edge they held until a pair of Robynn Cochran free throws four minutes later gave the Toros the lead for good.

Free throws proved vital down the stretch as CSUDH converted on its final 6 attempts to seal the win, including the final four by Lundy.

Cochran added 14 points and 13 boards in the win, with Juila Poecksteiner chipping in 11.

CSUDH concludes the regular season next weekend on the road at Humboldt State and Cal Poly Pomona.
