D-I Cal State Fullerton Survives in 45-43 Exhibition Win Over Toros

FULLERTON -- After playing like a champion in last week's exhibiton win over Concordia, newcomer Tayler Champion played like a titan against Division I Cal State Fullerton as the Titans forged a come-from-behind win in taking a 45-43 decision in CSUDH's final exhibition of the season.

Champion led all scorers with 15 points as the Toros took a 19-18 lead into the half, but CSUF took it up a notch in the second as it shot 44.0% while CSUDH converted 36.7% of its second-half attempts.

The Titans controlled the points in the paint, including an 11-2 edge in 2nd chance points.

Talia Rayford added nine points and nine boards, the latter tying for game-high honors, while Monay Lee added seven rebounds and five points in the loss.

CSUDH will open its 2013-14 campaign on Saturday, November 16 at cross-town rival Cal State L.A., with first tip set for 1 pm in The Eagles Nest.
