L-R: 1st-team All-CCAA Jessica Hall, 2nd-team All-CCAA Khryssi Steele, Coach of the Year Jim Maier, 2nd-team All-CCAA and 2x CCAA Pitcher of the Week Lauren Harper, and Newcomer of the Year, 2nd-team All-CCAA and 2x CCAA Player of the Week Christina Chavez
WALNUT CREEK -- Co-CCAA Champion and 9th-ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills placed four players on All-CCAA teams led by 1st-team selection Jessica Hall and Newcomer of the Year and 2nd-team All-CCAA selection Christina Chavez, while head coach Jim Maier received Coach of the Year honors for the second time in his career.

Senior Khryssi Steele and junior Lauren Harper both were named to the 2nd-team All-CCAA squad for the first time in their careers to round out the Toro award winners.

From Huntington Beach, Hall has had a banner year thus far, leading the team in batting average, hits, runs and slugging percentage.  The junior also places 5th in the CCAA Conference in hits and sits 9th in runs scored.

Chavez made a stunning debut in Cardinal and Gold this year en route to earning the Newcomer of the Year award and 2nd-team honors, earning a pair of CCAA Player of the Week honors while batting .301 with 44 RBI and 30 runs scored, including a .347 average and 36 RBI and 25 runs scored in league contests.

Harper was the second Toro to earn a pair of weekly honors, capturing two Pitcher of the Week honors en route to her first All-CCAA team selection.  The San Diego native sits 2nd in strikeouts and strikeouts looking, 3rd in opposing batting average, 4th in ERA and innings pitched, 5th in wins and 7th in saves in the CCAA, while ranking 33rd in strikeouts in the NCAA.

In her fifth year, Steele has been a catalyst to CSUDH's success this season, batting .329 with 34 runs scored and tied for the most stolen bases on the team with four.  A utility player who's seen the majority of her time in center, she has led the Toros to a 40-9 mark in the leadoff spot.

Currently in his 12th year as head coach, Maier earns his 2nd CCAA Coach of the Year honor after first claiming the honor in 2005, the last time the Toros claimed the league title.  Entering Friday's game against UC San Diego, Maier sports an overall record of 418-245 (63.0%) and, with CCAA and NCAA postseason games on the horizon, has his team on the verge of matching the program's record for most wins at 46, set in both 2005 and 2006.

Friday's 4:30 pm game against the Tritons can be heard and seen live on the Toro Sports Network, beginning with the pre-game show starting at 4:00 pm.  Go to the Toro Sports Network at www.GoToros.com/live for coverage of all Toro games.
