Season Ends After 62-48 Loss at Cal Poly Pomona

Box Score
POMONA -- The disappointing 2011-12 season for the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team came to an end tonight after a 62-48 loss at host Cal Poly Pomona, a loss that mirrored many of the losses this season after the Toros put a second-half scare into the Broncos only to fade at the end.

Porcha Davis led the Toros with 13 points, her 16th double-figure scoring effort of the year while senior Sherrie Hughes (pictured) finished her Toro career with a 9-rebound, 8-point night as CSUDH finished its 2011-12 campaign with a 3-26, 2-20 CCAA record.

It was the same story for the Toros all year long as they fell behind early in the game's opening 20 minute stanza, this time to the tune of a 33-20 halftime deficit.

But like they have all year long, CSUDH forged a second half comeback in getting as close as 38-35 near the 10-minute mark, only to see the hosts pull away for the win.

Davis went 5-for-11 from the field in the win to lead the Toros, but was no match for Sarah Semenero's 20 point outburst to lead three Broncos in double-figure scoring on the night.

As a team, CSUDH shot just 36% from the floor and 10% from 3-point land, committing 18 turnovers against just 5 assists on the night.

CSUDH bid farewell to six seniors who played their final game as a Toro, but look to eight returners to the 2012-13 squad in hopes of regaining its spot amongst the league's elite.
