Jordan Hatanaka assisted on two of tonight's scores in the win

CARSON -- Junior Aaron Salazar provided the middle score in tonight's 3-1 win over visiting San Francisco State as the Toros won their second-straight and fourth in their last five games.  With the win, CSUDH improves to 5-5-1 and 5-4 in CCAA action.

The Toros dominated from the first kick, taking an 8-4 edge in shots in the first 45-minute session.

It didn't take long for their aggressive play to pay dividends as junior Miguel Vazquez scored at the 2:15 mark.

In that sequence, Jordan Hatanaka served the ball to Jio Santana, who sent a cross to Vazquez from the right side of the pitch.

Vazquez then beat SFSU keeper Anthony Rodriguez far post for a 1-0 lead.

The Gators, however, equalized 18 minutes later as Edgar Villagrana took a through ball from Luis Medina and fired his point blank shot past Toro keeper Trey Mitchell at 20:45.

That's where the score remained until the 61st minute when Hatanaka again began a scoring sequence by shuttlling his pass to Andrew Johnson, who found Salazar at the 6 yard mark.  There, Salazar flicked his shot past Rodriguez to give the Toros the lead for good.

Less than 15 minutes later, Santana collected a loose ball and dribbled past a Gator defender for an isolation with Rodriguez, whom Santana beat from 6 yards out to close the scoring.

Mitchell finished with 3 saves compared to 6 for Rodriguez, keeping the Gators winless in league play.

CSUDH goes for three-straight on Sunday as Cal Poly Pomona visits Carson for a 2:00 pm first kick, after the Broncos fell 2-1 at Cal State L.A. earlier this afternoon.
