CSUDH Debuts on NSCAA Top 25 Poll at No. 25

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Bolstered by a 2-0 start to the 2011 season, the Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer team made its debut on the first National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) top 25 poll of the regular season, checking in at No. 25.

The Toros, who bested Colorado Mesa University and Cal Baptist last week, open CCAA Conference play Friday as they host Cal State San Bernardino, which opens its 2011 season in Carson.

CSUDH is led by senior Jordan Rover, who assisted on the game-winner against CMU last Thursday, and then scored both goals himself two days later in the win over the Lancers.

Senior Billy Gutierrez and sophomore Miguel Vasquez also have contributed a goal each, while keeper Markus Dickerson sports a 1.00 GAA heading into this Friday's showdown with the Coyotes, who were ranked as high as No. 3 last season.

No. 14 Chico State is the top CCAA team in the poll after dropping six spots, while Sonoma State improved one spot to No. 20.  The PacWest's Grand Canyon holds the top spot amongst all West Region teams, checking in at No. 9 this week.

First kick for Friday's contest is set for 7:00 pm in Toro Stadium, on the Home Depot Center's Track & Field Facility.
