Toros Out-Offensed By CS Monterey Bay in 69-55 Loss

Box Score
CARSON -- Against one of the top teams in the west region, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros just could not find a way to muster enough to get the "W" in their favor. After 40 minutes the Cal State Monterey Bay Otters defeated the Toros by a 69-55 final. Junior Sherrie Hughes nearly had a double-double on the evening, pulling 12 boards and scoring eight points.

In the first half the Otters were lights out from the field at 59%, including 56% from behind the arc.  CSUMB scored the first seven points of the game and never looked back the rest of the way. The lead grew to over 10 points for CSUMB and only once got back to eight in the first half.  Going into the break the score would be a 40-21 deficit for CSUDH as no Toros had more than four points while three Otters had more than seven.

One bright spot in the second half for CSUDH was the play of guard/forward Krissi Sylvis as she was much more forceful with the ball in her hands.

For the game CSU Dominguez Hills shot 34% compared to 44% for the visitors. One of the biggest differences was that CSUMB notched 16 assists to only six for CSUDH.

The Cal State Domingez Hills Toros will return to action on the Dave Yanai Court Saturday February 12 against San Francisco State, with the tip-off at 5:30pm.
