Toros Prep for CCAA Championships With Regular Season Finale at CSUN Invitational


NORTHRIDGE -- Following a week of rest, the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's cross country team competed at the Northridge Invitational.  The 6k run was in preparation for next week's CCAA Championships at Sonoma State with several of the top Toros showing their form.  Senior Reyna Samaniego continued her great season, finishing second among the Toro runners in a time of 24:01.9.

Leading the CSUDH finishers was senior and top runner Astyne Price who finished the course in 60th in a time of 23:48.7.  It was her fifth top 30 all-time result this season, making her last impression a memorable one. 

Samaniego followed five places later with a time just over 24 minutes at 24:01.9.

Three more Toros finished among the top 100 runners coming in 84th, 91st and 100th respectively.  Senior Lidia Ferman led the pack in a time of 24:41.7 with fellow senior Rebecca Caracoza next at 25:04.6.  Finishing just 20 seconds later was freshman Gloria Flores at 25:24.8.

Next Saturday, October 22, the CSUDH's women's cross country team will race against the entire CCAA in the CCAA Championships, hosted by Sonoma State University.
