COSTA MESA/IRVINE -- Despite posting a positive team attacking of .200-plus in two of three matches the Toros have yet to grab their first win at the Asics/Crowne Plaza Labor Day Tournament, falling in a trio of 0-3 losses with the strongest fight coming against the NAIA No. 9 team.  Posting an offensive tri-fecta, Elizabeth Krieger tallied a combined 26 kills, 2 aces and 154 digs in the effort.

Despite a quick loss to host Vanguard University in the day's opener with scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-19, the Toros rallied in their mid-day match-up against NAIA No. 9 Asuza Pacific University, forcing the Cougars into extra play in set two before falling with scores of 25-19, 26-24 and 25-19.

Yesterday's standout, Denise DeVine stayed hot throughout the day, grabbing a double-double in the second match with 11 kills and 12 digs, the Toros' first of the season.

In their last and final match of the day, against Colorado Christian University, the Toros once again put up a solid offensive effort before falling with scores of 25-21, 26-24 and 25-21.

Handling offensive 'quarterback' duties in the first two matches, Cassidy Mangum added 70 sets to her career total throughout the day before newcomer Olivia White had a say in match three, relegating 17 kills in the night for a total of 30 in the day.

Continuing the recent trend of positive attacking the Toros posted attack percentiles of .223, .205 and .159 throughout the matches, key in staying alive as an offensive threat.  On the day Krieger put down the cleanest level of attacking, posting a .455 clip in the final match, landing six of 11 attempts.

With three total blocks in the day, Elayne Greer added to her team's total of seven.
