Toros Take Down Cougars in Four Sets at Home

CARSON, Calif. — Cal State Dominguez Hills defended its home court Thursday evening with a strong four-set victory over Cal State San Marcos (25-21, 25-17, 19-25, 25-22) inside the Torodome.

The Toros put together one of their most balanced offensive efforts of the season, hitting .215 as a team and totaling 56 kills. Natalia Walden-Schulz and Ava Hurry led the attack with 15 kills apiece, while Bailey Fuches followed closely with 14 and a .323 hitting percentage.

Cassie Taylor added seven kills, three aces, and 14 digs to round out an all-around performance. Hurry also contributed three aces and eight digs, while Walden-Schulz added four blocks at the net. Setting duties were shared effectively, as Jaiden Mojica tallied 26 assists and Giovannina De Sisto added 21.

Defensively, libero Nina Robles anchored the back row with a match-high 20 digs, helping the Toros limit San Marcos to a .187 hitting clip.

"It was great to be back in the ToroDome and come away with the win tonight! Proud of our team's resilience in bouncing back after set 3 to close out in 4," said head coach Teddi Esko.

Cal State Dominguez Hills returns to the Torodome on Saturday, Nov. 8, to face Cal State LA. First serve is set for 5 p.m.
