POMONA -- Senior midfielder Scott Locken led all players with seven shots taken after regulation and the first overtime, but it was shot number eight that made the result great for ninth-ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills as the Toros brought the host Broncos down from their Friday night high in a thrilling 1-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona.

The Toros started hot against the hosts in the first half, tallying a 13-2 shot advantage after getting blitzed at CS San Bernardino two days earlier despite not finding the back of the net.

The hosts responded after the break by matching CSUDH's shots 9 to 9, but keepers Markus Dickerson and Andrew Todd, who came in for CPP starter James Iles in the 21st minute, both were up to the task in keeping the game scoreless through regulation.

After one overtime session failed to move the scoreboard, it took just 20 seconds in the second overtime period as Diego Turoldo led Locken to the mouth of the Bronco goal, where the senior punched in the game-winner for a key league weekend road split.

Clearly the aggressors, the Toros out-shot CPP 26-13 for the day, and out-cornered their hosts 9-1 in the process.

Dickerson finished with 5 saves, while the Bronco duo combined for 14 of their own, including 2 team saves.

The Toros, now 5-1-2, 4-1-1 CCAA, continue their league play with two more games on the road, beginning with a match-up at Chico State on Friday, with first kick set for 4:30 pm.
