CARSON -- The bothers Turoldo came up huge in a convincing season-opening win as both Andre Turoldo and older brother Diego Turoldo slotted a goal apiece to hand the No. 6 Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer team a dominating 3-1 win over the Eagles of Concordia Irvine.

Youth prevailed over experience as the younger of the two, Andre, got the Toros on the board first, collecting a dropped ball inside the box to notch an uncontested gimme at the 2:44 mark.

Fifteen minutes later freshman Wyatt Stucker doubled the score for the Toros, collecting a defensive rebound following a corner and sending a frozen rope through the defense for CSUDH's second goal of the night.

The Toros had their last say of the night as the elder Turoldo and three-time letter-winner Diego took a feed at 37:19 from Josh Walker for his first score of the season.

CCAA Newcomer of the Year Markus Dickerson notched five saves in the victory, while counterpart Mike Radchuk tallied four saves in the loss for CUI, its first of the year.

The win brings the Toros to 1-0 for the new year, giving the reigning CCAA Champions a 5-1 mark in their last six home openers.

CSUDH will next see action in non-conference play as they host the Vanguard University Lions this Saturday at 7:30 pm at Toro Stadium, on the Home Depot Center's Track and Field facility.
