SEASIDE -- Riding an eight-game win streak into today's twinbill, the No. 16 Toros of Cal State Dominguez Hills added two more victories to their ledger with 9-3 and 14-4 wins over the Cal State Monterey Bay Otters, highlighted by starter Bret Montgomery working 8.1 innings and fanning ten batters in game one.

A good day for CSUDH's staff, Montgomery scattered only five hits and gave up three runs in game one before game two starter Kody Kurowski went 6.1 frames, fanning five batters while giving up nine hits in the win.

With the Otters putting pressure on in game two, Andrew Klausmeier picked up his first save of the season after going 2.2 hitless innings with two strikeouts.

Sean Wardour was dominant from the hill as well, entering in relief in game one as he struck out his only two batters faced to end the game.

With 29 total hits as a team, the Toros were led by both John Skala and Kyle Pond, each belting a homer, including Pond's grand slam in game two.

In game one, Steve Carrillo brought in the game-winner, taking his base on a double before reaching home safely on a Pond RBI single.

In game two, Skala scored the game-winner after reaching on a single, before Pond would once again bring in a run, this time on a sacrifice fly.

Having his best day to date, Kevin Logan belted a 2RBI single and 2RBI double in game two, scoring safely in both at-bats.

Grabbing two hits in both games, Kevin Pillar extended his current hitting streak to 37 straight games, just 12 shy of tying the NCAA Division II record.

The Toros, now 29-10 and 19-7 in the CCAA, will close out the series with the Otters (7-32, 3-27 CCAA) in another doubleheader tomorrow with first pitch at 12 noon.
