Box Score
LOS ANGELES -- Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball head coach Murphy Su'a reached a milestone today as the Toros took a 10-9 decision over the Golden Eagles of Cal State L.A., giving Su'a his 100th win as head coach since he first took over the program full-time in 2007.

Now with an overall 100-140-1 record, he now stands along all three previous Toro baseball coaches - George Wing, Andy Lopez & Robert Bafia - in the 100-win club.

The win came way of starter Shane Youngdale who, in six frames fanned two batters and held the opposition to six runs, four of them earned.  Youngdale also evened his record at 3-3.

At least one team scored at least one run in all but the ninth inning with the Toros grabbing the most of either team in a powerhouse five-run fourth.

Going in with a 2-1 lead, the Toros started off the fourth with a Dean Benavidez single and finished with a Kevin Pillar 2RBI double and a Derrek Duarte 2RBI bomb over left-center to highlight five runs on four hits.

The hosts, facing a 10-6 deficit going into the eighth, answered back with a power inning of their own, grabbing three runs two hits before juicing the bases.

Clinging to a 10-9 lead but facing a bases loaded-no out situation, closer Matt Phillips secured the Toro win as he fanned three straight Golden Eagle batters to grab his eighth save of the season.

Duarte was not alone in the long shots as Kyle Pond blasted his own 2RBI shot, coming in the third.

Also of note, Pillar extended his game hit-streak to 28 games with the 2RBI double in the fourth, his first of two hits in the game.

Now 20-10 overall and 15-7 in the CCAA, the Toros will continue action against the Golden Eagles (13-14, 11-7 CCAA) with a double header set for tomorrow on the CSUDH campus at 11:00am.
