CARSON -- Junior Jessica Murphy regained her scoring touch on Homecoming weekend with two goals, and the result was a convincing 3-0 win over visiting Cal Poly Pomona to keep CSUDH's hopes alive for a berth in the upcoming CCAA Tournament, scheduled for next week at host CS Stanislaus, who needs to drop tomorrow's contest to Chico State to put CSUDH's fate in its own hands on Sunday.

The Toros put the game away early as Taylor Canatsey collected a through ball from Murphy and beat CPP keeper Sarah Rohman far post with just under six minutes elapsed in the game.

Murphy then doubled the score seven minutes later after getting behind the Bronco defense and lofting her shot over Rohman from eight yards out for a 2-nil lead.

That's where the score remained until the second half when Murphy notched her fourth multi-goal game of the season, taking a Yadira Gomez cross and one-touching it past reserve keeper Natalie Guevara for the game's final tally.

CSUDH keeper Alyssa Congdon was credited for one save in the shutout as the Toros out-shot CPP 8-5 in the contest, although they were out-cornered 6-3.

The Toros, now at 11-5-1, 9-5-1 CCAA, will conclude their 2010 regular season on Sunday against CS San Bernardino, which dropped a 4-1 decision at Cal State L.A. earlier today.

Before Sunday's "Senior Day" contest, however, the Toros will pay close attention to Saturday's game pitting Chico State at Cal State Stanislaus, with the hosts needing to win to clinch a berth in the tournament, regardless of CSUDH's result the following day.

If the Warriors lose their 4:30 pm match against the Wildcats, the Toros will need to win or tie to punch their ticket to Turlock.  If CSUS ties its match, a CSUDH win will mean that they're in.
