CARSON -- Sophomore Andre Turoldo's goal at 62:39 began a second-half rush that saw Cal State Dominguez Hills rebound from a scoreless first half with two second-half goals to take a hard-fought 2-0 win over a game Humboldt State squad on a cool Friday night, pushing the defending NCAA West Region and CCAA Champions to 9-2-2, 7-2-2 CCAA.

After a scoreless first half that saw CSUDH take just three more shots than the visiting Jacks, who entered tonight in second-to-last place in the CCAA North Division, another inspiring halftime pep talk by head coach Joe Flanagan seemed to do the trick again as the Toros used a 10-3 second-half shot advantage in the win.

Turoldo notched his first game-winning goal of the season as he tied for the team-lead with his fifth score taking a feed from brother Diego Turoldo and shuttling his shot past jack keeper Kyle Verle.

Senior Alex Munoz then took his turn on the scoreboard as a flick from Austin Nate found Mike Piechota in front of the HSU goal, who then headed a pass to Munoz for the score.

Toro keeper Markus Dickerson and the CSUDH defense notched their fourth-consecutive shutout as the Toros finished with a 16-6 shot advantage.  HSU keeper Verle, meanwhile, collected 3 saves in the loss as HSU fell to 2-8-3, 2-7-2 CCAA.

The Toros host arch-rival Sonoma State on Sunday afternoon, following SSU's 1-1 double overtime draw at Cal State L.A. earlier today.  First kick for the barnburner is set for 2:00 pm at Toro Stadium, on the Home Depot Center's Track & Field facility.
