San Francisco, CA -- The Toros remained tied atop the California Collegiate Athletic Association after handing host San Francisco State a 74-57 loss to sweep the season series.  With Humboldt State's win over Chico State and UC San Diego's win over Cal State San Bernardino, the Toros and Lumberjacks find themselves both at 12-4 in the CCAA, with four games left in the regular season.  Michael Hernandez paced CSUDH with 20 points in the win.

The first half saw five ties before the Toros took a 17-12 lead on a pair of foul shots by Robert Willhite.  SFSU narrowed its deficit to three after Martin Flores hit his own pair of freebies, but CSUDH built its lead up to 9 on an Aaron Tinsley triple with just over 7 minutes left in the first half, before extending its lead to double figures at 36-26 on two more foul shots, this time by Rodney Yearby, as the Toros settled for a 36-28 lead entering the break.

After intermission, the visitors turned on the offense, outscoring the hosts 14-4 over the half's first seven minutes, reaching the 20-point mark on two Jerrell Smith gimmes as CSUDH's lead hovered at the 15-point mark until late in the contest.

San Francisco State cut its hole to 12 at 63-51 on a Phoenix O'Rourke 3-pointer with 4:03 left in the game, but CSUDH went on a 10-2 run to ice the contest at 73-53 with just under two minutes left on Hernandez's final two free throws which gave him a perfect 16-of-16 on the night, setting a new CSUDH record for free throw percentage in a single game.

Senior Jonathan Toliver chipped in 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field, including 4-of-5 from long range, while Yearby finished with 11 points and 7 boards, tying Smith for game-high rebounding honors.

Continuing their dominance on the glass, the Toros collected 12 more rebounds than the Gators, connecting for 46.2% from the field while holding SFSU to just 30.2% shooting on the night.

The Toros, now 18-5, 12-4 CCAA, return home next weekend for their final homestand of the regular season, hosting Cal State Stanislaus on Friday, February 20 at 7:30 pm in the Torodome.
