Turlock, CA -- A change of scenery did little to deter the train that is becoming Cal State Dominguez Hills men's basketball as the Toros again used a balanced and opportunistic attack in cruising to its second CCAA victory in as many nights, this time in a 74-61 win over Cal State Stanislaus.  Freshman Robert Willhite led the Toros with 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field.

The Toros looked to blow their hosts out of the water early, scoring the game's first eight points before a Chris Hayes triple gave CSUS its first points of the contest.  That long ball served as inspiration for the Warriors, leading to their first advantage of the contest at 15-12 on a Matt Ibewiro trey at the 14:18 mark of the first half.

Trailing for the first time all weekend, CSUDH awoke and used a 31-12 run over the rest of the half to take control of the game, all but putting an end to any hopes of a CSUS upset.

After the break, the Toros pushed their lead to 17 at 49-32 on a Willhite layup at the 16:24 mark, to 21 at 53-32 on a James Cawthorne layup at 14:41, and to 27 at 63-36 on a Jamel Ward triple with 11:51 left in regulation, the biggest lead of the contest.

A foul shot by Jonathan Toliver a minute and a half later gave CSUDH a 27-point cushion for the second time in the contest, allowing head coach Damaine Powell to clear his bench as 12 Toros saw playing time in the contest.

CSUDH nailed over 46 percent of its shots from the floor and held CSUS to 43 percent, but again controlled the boards, this night using a hefty 41 to 29 advantage, to take control of the game.

Cawthorne finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds, the latter tying three other Toros for game-high rebounding totals, while Ward contributed 10 in the blowout win.

The Toros, now 12-3, 6-2 CCAA, return to Carson next weekend to host Humboldt State and Sonoma State for the final weekend of first round CCAA Conference action, with first tip for both Friday and Saturday's games set for 7:30 pm in the Torodome.
