At Saturday's CSUSB-hosted event, Fernandez was just 24 seconds away from taking the top finish as she placed runner-up in a time of 23:19.1.

This time is the 18th fastest in the CSUDH all-time marks, and Fernandez has added her name to the top lists in every race in which she has competed.
