Cal State Dominguez Hills alumna Cilecia Foster has led the CSUDH Dance Team (aka The Torogirls & Company) since 2006.
A native of the South Bay in Los Angeles, Foster graduated in 2006 with her B.A. in Liberal Studies (Elementary Education) with a concentration and minor in Dance. Foster has won over 50 awards, recognitions, and titles including a National Championship in 2023 for Division II Spirit Rally, gold medals at the USA College Dance National Championship in 2017, 2018, 2023 as well as the UDA West Coast Regional Championship in 2017 and 2018, and 2017 StreetDance Championship.
Since 2018, she has coached the team to either a silver or bronze medal each year on the national or regional level. She currently serves as a member of DanceCAST; a national advisory board that helps to guide the decisions related to youth and college dance teams for the largest dance and cheerleading brand in the world: Varsity Brands. She is also an active member of the National Dance Coaches Association.
In addition to leading the Dance Team, Foster has put her M.B.A. from South University in 2014 to use by becoming a school administrator and educator at a local charter high school. She has also served as faculty at Los Angeles Valley College where she taught adult education courses to prepare students to enter or re-enter the workforce. In her free time she enjoys trying new restaurants, watching Netflix, and going to the beach.
