Tim Anderson

Tim Anderson returns for his third season as an assistant coach for the men's basketball program in 2023-24.

In his first season, Anderson helped guide the Toros to 14 wins for the third straight year, but the highlight of the season was the program reaching the semifinal of the CCAA Tournament for the first time in 11 years.

Prior to coming to Carson, Anderson spent two seasons as the lead assistant coach at MiraCosta College in Oceanside. He helped the Spartans to a 16-12 overall record, a five-game improvement from the previous season in 2019-20. His responsibilities for the Spartans included in-game coaching, practice planning, recruiting, scouting, academic monitoring and social media.

Prior to MiraCosta College, Anderson spent seven years as the head coach of the boys’ basketball team at Highland High School in Palmdale. The Bulldogs compiled a 134-59 overall record during his tenure, which included five league titles, two CIF-Southern Section semifinals appearances, and a CIF State Championship tournament appearance in 2019, the first in school history. He coached and developed five league MVPs and seven All-CIF players.

A Southern California native, Anderson played at Highland High School in Palmdale, breaking several 3-point shooting records in his career.  He played collegiately at Mt. San Antonio College. Anderson decided to step away from the game as a collegiate player when his mother became ill and passed away in 2008.

Anderson and his wife, Crystal, have two children, a son Jayden, and a daughter Samantha. He also holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree, both in Kinesiology, and both from California Baptist University.
