Coach Johnson begins his fourth year as an assistant coach with the Toros men's basketball program, bringing 10 years of coaching experience to the table.
Johnson served as head coach for AAU's team "Up N Coming," one of the top high school programs on the West coast that recorded a 114-42 record over the past five seasons, and has seen 33 players earn scholarships to Division I and II levels.
Prior, he served as an assistant coach for Washington HS, where his teams advanced to the postseason all six years, and won the league title for 5 of his 6 years.
Johnson, a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, currently is a special education teacher in the LAUSD, and is working on his master's in special education.
He is married to Yvette Simpson-Johnson, and they have two children and reside in Carson.
