Carlos Arroyo

Carlos Arroyo enters his first season in 2014-15 as an assistant coach with the Toros after a four-year career in the business world, joining former college teammate and Interim Head Coach Steve Becker on the Toros coaching staff.

Arroyo also was an assistant coach on the Otters coaching staff during Becker’s time as a player at CSUMB.

Arroyos responsibilities include, but are not limited to recruiting, academic monitoring, on-court instruction, compliance liaison, camps, and all daily administrative duties.

Arroyo’s last coaching stint was as Head Coach of AGBU High School, a private school in Canoga Park. Under Arroyo, AGBU went 43-42, also posting an impressive 3.7 team GPA.

Prior to AGBU, Arroyo interned at Impact Basketball (Los Angeles), under Toro Alumni Geo Aispuro, and assisted with Player Development for players of all levels, including NBA, NCAA, and High School.

Arroyo served as an assistant coach for a season at CCAA member CSU Monterey Bay, recruiting 2 All-CCAA players while at CSUMB, including the first 1st-team All-CCAA player in school history.

Arroyo's first experience as a coach came at his alma mater, Bellarmine-Jefferson High School, where he served two years as an assistant coach for the Varsity team and Head Coach of the freshman team.

Arroyo played collegiately for multiple Universities, including his freshman year as a Toro during the 2000-2001 season under former and late head coach Larry Hauser.

He also competed at Los Angeles Pierce College, Angelo State University, and CSU Monterey Bay.

A Los Angeles native and Bellarmine-Jefferson High School graduate, Arroyo received his Business Management Degree from CSULA in 2010.
