Allen Caveness

Allen Caveness begins his first year as an assistant coach for the men's basketball program, coming to the Toro program with nearly 10 years of coaching experience in the southern California area.

Most recently, Cavaness earned consecutive "Coach of the Year" honors at Mt. SAC that included 2010-11, a year in which the Mounties held the top spot in the state the majority of the season en route to a 24-6 record and the second of consecutive league titles, advancing to the 3rd round of the state playoffs.

In two years at Mt. SAC, Caveness posted a 50-10 record.

Prior to Mt. SAC, Caveness spent two seasons with the Fullerton College Hornets, leading the 2008-09 squad to an 18-11 record and its second-consecutive league title.

One year prior, the Hornets rolled to an 11-1 league mark en route to the league crown, earning a trip in the state title game en route to an overall 28-6 record, a mark that earned Caveness "Coach of the Year" honors.

Before Fullerton, Caveness spent three years as the head coach of the Compton College men’s basketball program where he also doubled as the Athletics Director and Kinesiology Department Chair, compiling an overall record of 63-22.

Caveness earned his second-consecutive "Coach of the Year" honor in 2007 after going 22-10, while also being named the "Coach of the Year" for southern California by the California Commuity College Men's Basketball Coaches Association.

Prior to becoming a Head Coach at Compton, Caveness served as an assistant coach at both Oxnard College and El Camino College.

Caveness earned a scholarship to play basketball for Division I Saint Mary's College in Moraga, earning team MVP honors and all-league nods after leading El Camino College to the Final Four in both his junior college competition years.

Caveness earned a BA in Sports Medicine from St. Mary's College and two Master's Degrees from Azusa Pacific University in Counseling and Kinesiology.
