Reginald Evans

  • Assistant Coach
    Outfield Coach
In his first year as an assistant coach working with the outfield, Evans brings knowledge and experience to Su’a’s staff.

Most recently, Evans was the assistant coach at Compton Community College where he held similar duties for three years. He also coached at Broome Junior College in Binghamton, New York.

In 2005 he spent time in Israel teaching baseball and serving on a committee that eventually developed into the Israel Baseball League. At the time he was proudly the only African-American staffer.

A baseball player his entire life, Evans started at a young age playing Little League ball with infielder Hubie Brooks (New York Mets). Finishing out his career, Evans spent eight years in the Mexican League and was a teammate of former major leaguer Mark Whiten (Toronto Blue Jays) with the Northern League’s Thunder Bay Whiskey Jacks.

A southern California native, Evans graduated from Dominguez High School in 1975 and holds an Associates of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Compton Community College. He is currently enrolled at CSUDH, pursuing his bachelor’s in kinesiology.  Aside from his duties on the team, he is a real estate broker and has two 10-year old daughters.
