Joe Magno begins his first year as an assistant coach for the Toros baseball program with more than three decades of coaching experience.

Magno began his coaching career more than 30 years ago in St. Petersburg, Florida, when he was invited to coach with the Jim Rice Professional Baseball School as the Director of Daily Instruction. From there, Magno went on to coach at Eckerd College in Florida for four years as an Assistant Coach and Hitting Instructor for the nationally ranked, Eckerd College Tritons.
 
After founding the All American Baseball Academy, which had set up operation in Florida and Long Beach, CA, Magno was recruited to run California State University Long Beach’s Showcase and Scout Camps from 1996 – 1998. During that time, he was also recruited by the Woman’s Professional Baseball League (WBL) and became the Bench Coach for the Long Beach Lady Aces in 1997. In addition from 1997 through 1999, Magno served as Associate Scout for Major League Baseball's Cincinnati Reds.
 
In 1999, Coach Magno was invited by the Long Beach Breakers of the Western League to coach alongside Head Coach Steve Yeager. He became the Bench and Hitting coach from the Western League Championship Club in 2001.
 
In 2001, he began Family Sports Camps (Mister Baseball Enterprises), where he and his staff ran baseball and softball camps, coaches clinics and group and private baseball lessons and training. Magno has earned two U.S. Patents for his baseball training tools and products, The Lighting Stick and Deflector Glove.
 
Magno is proud to have coached many Professional players including Jonathan Singleton (Houston Astros), Bobby Wilson (Former Anaheim Angels catcher), Zack Wilson (NY Yankees) and Alex Newman (Kansas City Royals).
 
His most recent accomplishments include his work as First Base Coach for the Minnesota Twins Scout program (Major League Baseball Academy), working alongside Shigetoshi Hasegawa (former Seattle Mariners and Angels pitcher) as Assistant Coach for the Mazda PTC Elite Scout Team.  Addtionally, he served as Head Coach for Mayfair High School, where he lead the Monsoons to three Suburban League Championships in four seasons, compiling a 78-37 record.
 
Coach Magno brings experience from all levels of the game along with his ability to motivate his players to become their best as athletes, teammates and citizens. He currently resides in San Pedro, CA with his wife, Lisa, and son, Montana, who will begin his high school baseball career this year for the Long Beach Wilson Bruins.
