IRVINE -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills volleyball squad made strides against PacWest foe Biola on day two of the Orange County Classic, but ultimately fell in straight sets, 25-12, 25-15, 25-19, this afternoon on the campus of host Concordia University Irvine.
Lainey Johnson led all players with 12 digs in the loss.
Unless yesterday's match in which CSUDH was held to a negative hitting percentage, the Toros doubled their kill to error ratio to the tune of an overall .154 attack percentage.
In the process, the Toros went from a 13-point loss in the opening set to just a six-point deficit in the third set.
Rilee Graham and
Anna Sanzaro paced the offense with five kills apiece while
Giovannina De Sisto racked up 10 assists and
Makena Morrison service a pair of aces.
The Toros conclude the OC Classic tomorrow afternoon against Vanguard, with first serve set for 5 pm.
