POMONA, Calif. -- Cal State Dominguez Hills senior second baseman
Quinn Johnson was named to the 2026 Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association All-West Region 1st-team, it was announced today after a vote of the D2CCA Sports Information Directors from the West Region.
With his 1st-team selection, Johnson now is eligible for All-America consideration.
Sophomore catcher
Nigel Buckley earned 2nd-team honors to join his senior teammate.
Johnson was a fixture atop the Toros lineup and in the CCAA top 10 offensively for a team that finished 21-24 overall and 13-19 in CCAA play.
The San Diego native finished the regular season 3rd in slugging percentage and OPS (on-base + slugging), 4th in on-base percentage, 9th in batting average and 10th in home runs.
He also earned a 1st-team All-CCAA honor and a CCAA Player of the Week nod for the week of April 6 after the Toros split their series with eventual CCAA Champion Cal State Monterey Bay.
In that series, Johnson knocked seven hits in 13 at-bats, good for a .538 average and a 2.010 OPS. He also boasted three home runs, five runs batted in, five runs scored, and two doubles in the four games boasting a hit and run scored in all four games.Â
This is Johnson's third All-Region nod in Cardinal and Gold, earning two last season.
Buckley also made a name for himself this year, finishing 3rd in the CCAA in batting average, 7th in hits, 9th in slugging percentage, and 10th in both OPS and RBI.
The 2026 D2CCA All-America teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 27.
