Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

AZUSA, Calif. — Cal State Dominguez Hills powered its way to a doubleheader sweep of Azusa Pacific on Saturday, taking Game 1 by an 11–1 score before completing the day with a 12–2 victory.

The Toros combined for 23 runs on 24 hits across the two games, using big middle innings in both contests to pull away.

Game 1: Cal State Dominguez Hills 11, Azusa Pacific 1

After holding a narrow 2–1 lead through four innings, Dominguez Hills broke the game open with a five-run fifth and a four-run seventh.

Mireya Rico led the offense, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, including a solo home run in the seventh inning. Savanna Kastigar drove in three runs, highlighted by a three-run double in the fifth that extended the Toros' advantage to 6–1.

Gaby Gandara added two hits and an RBI, while Ava Tellez delivered a two-run single in the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Nadia Juarez earned the win after tossing three scoreless innings, allowing two hits. Ashley Ogata worked the next three frames, and Brooke Umali closed the game with a scoreless seventh.

Game 2: Cal State Dominguez Hills 12, Azusa Pacific 2

Azusa Pacific struck first in the second inning, but the Toros responded quickly and never looked back.

After tying the game in the third when Gaby Gandara scored on an error, Dominguez Hills exploded for six runs in the fourth to take control.

Torie Au started the rally with a single before Savanna Kastigar doubled to put two runners in scoring position. Dyoni Garcia singled to center to bring home the go-ahead run, and Makayla Bishop followed with an RBI single. Back-to-back walks by Ashley Goodale and Marisa Dominguez forced in another run before Mireya Rico delivered a two-run single to cap the inning and give the Toros a 6–1 lead. A bases-loaded walk by Kastigar later in the frame made it 7–1.

Dominguez Hills added five more in the seventh. Marisa Dominguez delivered the decisive blow with a three-run double to left field, finishing the game 2-for-4 with five RBIs. Mila Dolores added an RBI double later in the inning, and Ava Tellez drove in another run as the Toros pushed the margin to 12–2.

Au finished 3-for-4 with a double, while Bishop and Goodale each collected two hits.

Audrey Gallegos earned the win in the circle, working four innings and striking out three.

The Toros return home Saturday to play a non-conference doubleheader against Vanguard. Game one first pitch is scheduled for noon.
