ALISA VIEJO -- Cal State Dominguez Hills was picked to finish fifth in a California Collegiate Athletic Association coaches preseason poll, it was announced earlier by the conference office.
The Toros received 44 points and one of the nine available first-place votes.
Cal State East Bay was selected as the conference favorite, earning 76 points and five first-place votes, with Cal State San Marcos (71 points, two first-place votes) and Cal State San Bernardino (55 points) rounding out the top three.
CSUDHÂ finished 2025 with a 31-25 overall record and matched San Bernardino at 18-18 in conference play. The Toros collected 17 home wins and advanced to the postseason. The team led the conference with a .973 fielding percentage and earned its fourth straight postseason appearance by qualifying for the 2025 CCAA Softball Tournament, where they fell to CSUSM in the first round.
The Toros open their 2026 campaign at the Concordia Kickoff Classic next weekend against Colorado State Pueblo at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine.
