CARSON, Calif., – The Cal State Dominguez Hills men's golf team continues to shine in the classroom as it was one of 292 programs recognized with the 2024-25 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) this week.
The Toros were one of only 33 NCAA Division II programs to earn the distinction, which is awarded to teams that post a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the academic year.
A record number of schools across six collegiate divisions earned the honor. In addition, 129 programs received the President's Special Recognition status for achieving a team GPA of 3.5 or higher.
The academic accolade adds to a successful summer for the Toros program, which also saw scholar-athletes named NCAA Division II All-America Scholars by the GCAA. (Jonah Camarillo, Zachary Iwashita and Aaron Sanchez)
