CARSON, Calif. – Cal State Dominguez Hills men's golf student-athletes Jonah Camarillo, Zachary Iwashita and Aaron Sanchez have been named 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
The honor recognizes collegiate golfers across NCAA Divisions I, II, III, NAIA, and NJCAA who demonstrate excellence both on the course and in the classroom. To qualify, athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. Participate in at least 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, maintain a stroke average under 78.0 in Division II, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, and be of high moral character and in good standing at their institution.
This marks the second career All-America Scholar selection for Camarillo, while Iwashita and Sanchez earn the prestigious distinction for the first time. The trio helped lead the Toros throughout the 2023-24 season, balancing athletic competition with outstanding academic performance.
In total, 207 NCAA Division II student-athletes from 78 institutions were honored this year.
