CARSON, Calif,.- Announced by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) on the morning of May 16, three Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball standouts earned spots on the 2025 NCBWA All-West Region Team following a stellar season for the Toros.
Junior right-hander Justin Abercrombie headlined the honors, landing on the First Team as a starting pitcher. Abercrombie was also named the 2025 CCAA Pitcher of the Year after finishing with an 8-2 record and a 2.83 ERA. He led the CCAA in WHIP (1.05), opponent batting average (.208), and allowed just one home run across 63.2 innings pitched while striking out 69.
Joining him on the First Team was fellow junior Julian Castro, who was honored as the region's top relief pitcher. Castro recorded eight saves with a 2.72 ERA across 53 innings, tallying 30 strikeouts while limiting opponents to a .241 average.
Rounding out the honors, junior utility standout Quinn Johnson earned Second Team recognition. Johnson finished the year hitting .324 with 57 hits, 12 home runs, and 42 RBIs, while posting a .585 slugging percentage and .985 OPS. He also added 10 doubles, 14 walks and 11 hit-by-pitches while starting at third base for the Toros.
The trio played a pivotal role in helping CSUDH to a 29-win season, a second-place finish in the CCAA regular season standings, and a spot in the CCAA Tournament.
