Toros Conclude Regular-Season at Cal State Monterey Bay

SEASIDE, Calif. – Cal State Dominguez Hills wrapped up the regular season on Saturday afternoon, battling but ultimately falling in a tough CCAA doubleheader against Cal State Monterey Bay at the Otter Sports Complex.

The Toros jumped out early in game one behind a two-run double from Kaylee Hull in the first inning, but the Otters answered quickly and didn't look back, handing CSUDH an 11-3 loss. Hull led the offense with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate, driving in all three of the Toros' runs. Alexis Aguado, Gaby Gandara, Julissa Gomez, and Andrea Tellez each chipped in hits, while Dominguez Hills tallied seven hits overall. Despite the tough result, the Toros stayed aggressive and continued to fight at the plate throughout.

In the nightcap, CSUDH came out swinging once again, with Mireya Rico delivering a two-run homer to highlight the scoring. Aguado and Jay Ross each added hits and crossed the plate, but a six-run third inning from the Otters proved too much to overcome as the Toros fell 13-3 in five innings. Hull and Rico paced the offense, while pitchers Ashley Ogata, Lillianna Garcia, Alivia Holden, and Ally Fuentes all saw action in the circle.

Despite the tough day, Cal State Dominguez Hills finishes the regular season with a 31-24 overall record (18-18 CCAA) and has clinched a spot in the 2025 CCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive season! The Toros will now shift focus to the postseason, set to begin Wednesday, April 30, at Seawolf Softball Field in Rohnert Park.
