Toros Take Two Against Eagles in Home Doubleheader Sweep

CARSON, Calif. – The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros secured a doubleheader sweep over the Biola Eagles on Monday at Toro Diamond, claiming a 6-5 victory in Game 1 before wrapping up the day with a 4-1 win in Game 2. The Toros improve to 9-2 on the season with the pair of wins.

In the opening game, the Toros capitalized on a three-run fifth inning, highlighted by a three-run home run from Sam Kwiatkowski. Alexis Aguado and Jay Ross each contributed RBIs, while Ashley Ogata earned the win in the circle after allowing two earned runs on six hits across five innings. Lillianna Garcia picked up the save despite a late push from the Eagles, who scored three runs in the seventh to tighten the score.

Game 2 saw a strong pitching performance from Alivia Holden, who went the distance while allowing just one run on seven hits. Alani Nguyen and Garcia provided the offensive spark with back-to-back home runs, while Ross added two hits and a pair of runs to pace the offense. The Toros struck early with a run in the first inning and tacked on two more in the third before sealing the win with an insurance run in the sixth.

Statistical leaders for the day included Kwiatkowski, who went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs in Game 1, and Garcia, who homered in Game 2 while driving in three runs across both contests. Ross finished the day with four hits and two runs scored, while Holden's complete-game effort kept the Eagles' offense in check.

The Toros will now hit the road for a rematch against Biola on Tuesday, Feb. 11, with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. and the nightcap set for 4:30 p.m.
