SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Cal State Dominguez Hills came out firing Sunday afternoon and held strong for all 90 minutes, but a second-half strike made the difference in a narrow 2–1 result at Premier Field.
Midfielder Cynthia Ramirez delivered the breakthrough in the 23rd minute, finishing a chance inside the box to give the Toros a deserved early lead. The goal was sparked by sustained pressure from the CSUDH attack, which tallied 17 total shots — including five from Kaylee Leavitt and three each from Alexis Delgado and Alyssa Edwards.
Goalkeepers Audrey Haman and Marlies Nauman split the match and combined for three saves, while defenders Makenzie Hewison, Victoria Ulloa, and Celine Villaseñor worked relentlessly against the Coyotes' counter-attack.
Edwards and Delgado continued to drive at the CSUSB back line late, forcing 10 total saves, but the equalizer didn't fall as CSUDH pushed until the final whistle.
The loss puts the Toros at 5–10–2 overall and 2–7–1 in CCAA play, showing strong attacking form before the final match next Thursday at Cal State East Bay, 2 PM.
