SAN FRANCISCO – Cal State Dominguez Hills continued its strong play, earning a thrilling five-set road victory over San Francisco State on Saturday afternoon inside the San Francisco Federal Credit Union Gym at Don Nasser Family Plaza.
The Toros rallied for the 3-2 win by set scores of 22-25, 25-18, 23-25, 25-22 and 15-13, securing their third CCAA victory of the season in dramatic fashion.
Bailey Fuches led the way with a match-high 17 kills while adding 20 digs and six block assists for an all-around standout performance. Anna Sanzaro followed with 10 kills, five block assists and one service ace, while Ava Hurry added 11 kills and four digs. Cassie Taylor chipped in five kills, 17 digs and two aces.
Setter Giovannina De Sisto directed the offense with 40 assists, 12 digs and one ace, while libero Nina Robles anchored the defense with a team-high 23 digs and a match-leading six service aces.
As a team, CSUDH recorded 51 kills, 50 assists, 91 digs, 24 block assists and 12 aces while hitting .180 on the day.
