HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State Dominguez Hills battled throughout the night but fell in four sets to Cal State East Bay, 3-1, in CCAA play Friday evening inside Pioneer Gymnasium.
Set scores were 25-23, 11-25, 20-25 and 26-28 as the Toros pushed the Pioneers to the brink in a hard-fought fourth set.
Ava Hurry powered the offense with 16 kills, while Anna Sanzaro followed with seven kills and five service aces. Shyla Williams chipped in six kills and one ace, while Bailey Fuches recorded a balanced performance with five kills, a season-high 23 digs and a season-high 22 assists.
Setter Giovannina De Sisto added 15 assists, seven digs and one ace, while libero Nina Robles anchored the back row with 14 digs.
As a team, CSUDH totaled 45 kills, 44 assists, 83 digs and 10 service aces.
