No. 3 Toros Dominate Cal State San Marcos to Stay Perfect at 15-0

SAN MARCOS, Calif. — The No. 3 Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros remained undefeated with an emphatic 92-52 victory over Cal State San Marcos on Thursday evening at The Sports Center. The Toros improved to 15-0 overall and 7-0 in CCAA play, delivering a dominant performance on both ends of the court.

The Toros took control early, outscoring the Cougars 21-10 in the first quarter. Nala Williams and Asia Jordan set the tone offensively, combining for 12 points in the opening frame. Dominguez Hills shot 56.3% from the field in the first quarter and forced nine turnovers, quickly establishing their defensive presence.

The second quarter was even more dominant for the Toros, who exploded for 30 points while holding San Marcos to just 11. Williams continued to shine, adding eight points, while Jo'el Benoit provided a spark off the bench with six points. The Toros converted turnovers into points, building a commanding 51-21 halftime lead.

After halftime, Dominguez Hills kept up the pressure. The Toros outscored the Cougars 25-14 in the third quarter, highlighted by Jordan's eight points and Teagan Thurman's strong rebounding effort. The team's depth was on full display as Milan Tuttle and Tiara Jones combined for seven points off the bench.

In the fourth quarter, the Toros cruised to victory with a balanced attack. The defense forced six more turnovers, and every active player contributed to the scoring column. Dominguez Hills finished the game shooting 55.2% from the field and forcing 28 turnovers.

Williams led the Toros with a game-high 20 points, adding eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Jordan posted 18 points, five rebounds, and three blocks in a well-rounded effort. Benoit added 10 points off the bench, while Thurman chipped in six points and seven rebounds. Tuttle contributed seven points, while Cristina Jones had four points and four assists.

The Toros will look to keep their perfect season intact as they travel to Sonoma State for another CCAA matchup on Saturday, January 11, at 1 p.m.
