ROHNERT PARK, Calif. — The No. 3 Cal State Dominguez HillsToros continued their perfect season with a 62-49 road win over Sonoma State on Saturday afternoon at The Wolves' Den. The Toros improved to 16-0 overall and 8-0 in CCAA play, using their defensive intensity and balanced scoring to secure another victory.
The Toros set the tone early, outscoring the Seawolves 19-9 in the first quarter. Cristina Jones and Asia Jordan led the charge, combining for 10 points in the opening frame. Dominguez Hills' defense was smothering, forcing six turnovers and holding Sonoma State to just 28.6% shooting in the period.
In the second quarter, the Toros extended their lead with a 17-11 advantage. Jordan added five points, while Nala Williams controlled the boards, grabbing four rebounds. Dominguez Hills headed into halftime with a commanding 36-20 lead, holding Sonoma State to just 25% shooting in the half.
The third quarter saw the Toros maintain their momentum, outscoring the Seawolves 17-7. Teagan Thurman provided a spark off the bench, scoring four points and pulling down three rebounds in the period. Dominguez Hills forced eight turnovers in the frame, turning them into easy transition points to build a 53-27 lead entering the fourth.
Despite a late push by Sonoma State, outscoring the Toros 22-9 in the final quarter, Dominguez Hills' early dominance proved too much to overcome. Williams and Jones added key rebounds and free throws down the stretch to close out the game.

Cristina Jones led the Toros with 12 points, shooting an efficient 4-for-5 from the field while adding four rebounds and three steals. Asia Jordan followed with 11 points on 4-for-7 shooting and chipped in six rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Nala Williams contributed nine points, nine rebounds, two assists, and three steals in a strong all-around effort. Teagan Thurman provided eight points and seven rebounds off the bench, while Kya Pearson added six points, two rebounds, an assist, and three steals. Jo'el Benoit scored four points and grabbed three rebounds, and Devon Lewis contributed five points, four rebounds, and three steals. Milan Tuttle rounded out the effort with four points, five rebounds, and three assists. The Toros will return home to face Cal State East Bay on Thursday, January 16, at 5:30 p.m. in another CCAA matchup as they look to extend their perfect season.
