No. 5 Toros Stay Unbeaten with Dominant 76-58 Victory Over CSUSB

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — The No. 5 Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros continued their perfect season, defeating Cal State San Bernardino 76-58 in a CCAA road matchup on Saturday afternoon at Coussoulis Arena. The Toros improved to 14-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play with another strong defensive performance, forcing 16 turnovers and converting them into 32 points.

The Toros started strong in the first quarter, using their defensive intensity to limit the Coyotes to 12 points while scoring 20 of their own. Nala Williams and Asia Jordan each contributed six points in the frame, helping Dominguez Hills set the tone early. In the second quarter, the Toros extended their lead, outscoring San Bernardino 22-11. Williams added seven points in the period, including a three-pointer, while Cristina Jones grabbed key rebounds to help the Toros build a 42-23 lead at halftime.

San Bernardino responded in the third quarter, outscoring Dominguez Hills 22-16 as they found more offensive rhythm. Despite the Coyotes' surge, the Toros maintained their composure, with Jordan scoring eight points in the period to keep the game under control. In the fourth quarter, the Toros locked down defensively once again, holding the Coyotes to 13 points and closing out the game with an 18-13 edge in the final frame.

Williams led the Toros with 19 points, five rebounds, six assists, and four steals in a standout performance. Jordan matched her scoring total with 19 points, adding eight rebounds and a steal. Jones contributed with 11 points and nine rebounds, while Kya Pearson filled the stat sheet with seven points, seven assists, and five steals. Hosanna Walker and Teagan Thurman each added four points off the bench to round out the balanced team effort.

The Toros will look to remain undefeated as they hit the road again to face Cal State San Marcos in a CCAA matchup on Thursday, January 9, at 5:30 p.m.
