SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros displayed a strong offensive showing as they racking up 18 shots in their match against Academy of Art, but were unable to connect with the net ultimately capturing a 0-0 draw.
The Toros' defense played a solid 90 minutes, anchored by defenders
Makenzie Hewison,
Kaila Tone, and
Emma Arkus, who all went the full distance, keeping the Urban Knights from converting their chances. Goalkeeper
Kylie Yuzon started the match logging in 44 minutes and a save, before being subbed off for
Audrey Haman, who closed out the second half with two saves.
Lauren Bailey led the offensive charge for the Toros as took four shots, with one shot on target.
Skyler Schultz and
Alyssa Edwards each had two shots on goal each.
Cheyenne Dohan,
Hanna Espinoza,
Alyssa Edwards, and
Alyssa Villalobos each took a shot on target. However, despite their best efforts, the Toros couldn't break through the Urban Knight's defense.
The Toros will return to the Toro Stadium for their season opener against Fresno Pacific on Wednesday, September 11
th at 5pm.
