CARSON — The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros jumped out to an early lead and held on to defeat Biola University 3-2 on.
Logan Kaufman,
Jose Peredia, and
Ramiro Rosas each found the back of the net to guide the Toros to victory.
The Toros wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, with Kaufman striking in the fifth minute. Assisted by
Jose Peredia and Mikey McKibbin, Kaufman slotted home his second goal of the season to give CSUDH an early 1-0 advantage.
After Biola equalized in the 18th minute, Peredia responded just three minutes later. Assisted by McKibbin and
Ramiro Rosas, Peredia's first goal of the season put the Toros back in front, 2-1.
In the second half, Rosas added to the lead in the 57th minute, finishing a pass from Kaufman to make it 3-1. It was Rosas' first goal of the season.
Though Biola pulled one back with a penalty kick in the 72nd minute, the Toros' defense held firm for the remainder of the match to secure the win.
With the victory, Cal State Dominguez Hills improves to 3-3 overall and will look to continue their form as they open CCAA Conference play against Cal State LA on Saturday, September 28
th in Los Angeles.
