COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Despite a furious three goals in a second-half comeback, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros fell 4-3 to UC Colorado Springs Mountain Lions.
UC Colorado Springs struck early netting two goals within the first 10 minutes. UCCS extended their lead in the second half when the Mountain Lions connected on a penalty kick in the 68th minute, followed by another goal in the 74th minute to make it 4-0.
The Toros came alive in the final quarter of the game.
Alyssa Edwards sparked the comeback with a goal just seconds after UCCS's fourth, and then added a second in the 85th minute, assisted by
Emma Arkus.
Lauryn Bailey further cut into the deficit with a goal in the 88th minute, assisted by
Alyssa Villalobos.
Despite the late offensive surge, time ran out on the Toros as they fell 4-3.
