McKibbin's Hat Trick Powers Toros to 6-2 Victory Over Seattle Pacific

SEATTLE, Wash.  — Mikey McKibbin's hat trick highlighted an offensive outburst as the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros powered past Seattle Pacific, 6-2.

The match started quickly, with the Toros taking the lead just 1:41 into the game when Diego Barahona calmly converted a penalty kick with a hard low finish to the left side of the net. However, Seattle Pacific answered in the 19th minute with a 10-yard goal to the left side.

Before halftime, the Toros regained the lead when Gavin Brummer scored his first goal of the season on a counterattack, finishing an 8-yard shot after receiving a cross from Zach Eichelberger in the 42nd minute.

In the second half, McKibbin took over. His first goal came in the 55th minute, a 16-yard blast to the upper right corner, assisted by Chris Briseno. Seattle Pacific quickly responded with a goal on the 58-minute mark.

McKibbin struck again just three minutes later, finishing a 12-yard cross from Ramiro Rosas. He completed his hat trick in the 68th minute with a diving header off a corner kick, again assisted by Rosas.

Brummer capped off the scoring for the Toros in the 71st minute, beating the Seattle Pacific goalkeeper in an open net scramble following a breakdown in the defense.

The Toros take the field again Saturday, September 14th as they take on Western Washington at 7pm.
