CARSON- In a thrilling doubleheader at home, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros split the day's games against Sonoma State.
Game 1:
The Toros began assertively with
Alex Sepulveda driving in two runs in the first inning with a single, setting the tone early. Throughout the game, the Toros capitalized on Sonoma State's errors, extending their lead to 5-0 by the fifth inning.
Despite a late surge from Sonoma State, including a two-run homer in the eighth, the Toros managed to hold on for a 6-3 victory. A crucial passed ball allowed
Emilio Barrera to score in the bottom of the eighth, sealing the win.
