CARSON, Calif. – The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros win their series against the Biola University Eagles after splitting today's doubleheader.
Game One
The Toros closed the series against the Eagles with a remarkable performance. In the first half of the match multiple Toros stood out. The second inning put the Toros in a great position for the remainder of the game.
Alani Nguyen doubled down the left field bringing Samantha Kwiatowski home from second base.
Alexis Aguado also hit one RBI as she hit a grounder to advance
Julisa Gomez,
Gaby Gandara, and brought
Alani Nguyen home. This play gave the Toros a 2-0 lead but they did not stop there.

Julisa Gomez and
Gaby Gandara scored, giving Ross two RBIs. Ross also scored on a wild pitch, giving the Toros a strong lead of 5-0 at the end of the second inning. While the Eagles did have one run in the fourth, they were no match for the Toro's incredible offensive and defensive efforts to end the match with a score of 5-1.
Game Two
In a hard fought battle against the Eagles the Toros attempted to comeback from a deficit early in the match. Biola had a lead of 4-0 going into the fourth inning. The Toros did not fold under the pressure and started to close the score gap.
Julisa Gomez singled up the middle field with bases loaded, bringing home
Mireya Rico. Aguado followed suit as she connected with a hit to bring
Alex Davis across home plate. In the fifth inning
Kaylee Hull hit a homer to center field making it a 4-3 Eagle lead. The Toros fought until the very end but ultimately fell to the Biola Eagles, 5-3.
With their four game winning streak snapped, the Toros take on the Cal Poly Humboldt LumberJacks in a four game series at home April 19-20 to start the winning streak again.
